I'm as confused as Minato. I mean I guess he wasn't in proper mind while shooting (focusing on others way of shooting instead of his own) so he wasnt good anchor and ruined balance. However what will taking him 'off the field' help? maybe he need break, but i would be kinda mad at sensei for not telling me straight and just taking him off the training all together. I guess this is the start of his arc. Tbh i dont mind, because I was worried that we wont see Minato much this season after he 'healed' his target panic.

That new character - Nikaido is cool, but at the same time I was disappointed that he supposedly does kyudo only 'to beat others'. I guess thats why Shuu isnt interested in him at all.

this is season 2!!! go watch season 1. theres a movie too but it hasnt been released in the west yet, and i'm pretty sure it was just a recap anyway. this anime is wonderful, and you learn all the characters really smoothly - given you actually watch the first season lol

The shooting style reflects the personality of each person, and the approach to shooting (shooting philosophy : utilitarian vs aesthetic), has a great influence on the result...especially since they -Kazemai students - haven't mastered their own style yet

Tsujimine's style isn't the traditional style compared to the other schools.
and then there's the quirks
Nikaidou : Pulls the arrow back, from when the bow was still in front. (traditional way, the arrow is pulled back when the bow was on top of their stance)
his 2nd: Shoots as borderlinely fast as nikaidou, just barely out of the penalty timing
3rd: was just brute forcing his shots
4th: Besides being slow, he doesn't shoot at full power
5th: Leans back way farther than the norm.

my guess is he was too concerned with the other team and then became obsessed with beeing better, wich threw him off his rythm and maybe the team felt this and got thrown of too, and then he did not realise that the team is off because of his stressful shooting and went on. thats why he was so surprised at the end.

I kinda feel that Ryouhei was also out of line... he was bouncing around with the spectators instead of being with his team. Panicking over his glove, then loosing his arrow, the dewd was a mess... a bit unfair that Minato was the only one sent to time out

yeah if you have that kind of teacher it can take very long to learn something, but in kyudo it's not uncommon, because a very big part there is to communicate with yourself, your body and the bow. what i want to say its not just an animetrope. it can happen in real life ^^°
